Woo, hoo guys...it's almost the weekend, and you know what that means...DATE NIGHT! I mean, I'm a frequent restaurant visitor...you know...because I don't cook! However, I love going someplace special and getting just a little dressed up. My ideal night out is to a really great dinner. So, today, I've partnered with my friend Anita of Saved Classy and Chic to style date night looks for you. That's double the looks, twice the fun, and all that good stuff!
Head on over to Anita's blog and check out her looks too! If you follow my blog, you know I have an un-waivering love...for...black outfits, that is! So, of the three outfits I've put together for you, they all incorporate some black, of course! How dressy you choose to go really depends on where you're headed for your date.

This dress, I love because it has a skirt that is loose and flows and has pockets. Who doesn't love pockets? I love that the top is fitted. I don't know about you other petite ladies, but I prefer fitted tops. Otherwise, I look like I've been swallowed. Because it's still chilly out (and I'm always cold), I paired it with some sparkly dark gray tights, and some stiletto heeled black booties. I accented the look with gray pearl jewelry and silver dangly statement earrings. This look is dressy enough to wear on a fairly fancy date night. I've worn this look, or close to it, to the opera.
I don't typically wear large earrings, but these are super lightweight and add a dressy vibe to the outfit. The thing I love about a dress, is, well, it's easy to throw on and go without having to think too much about the outfit pieces, and it looks super cute!
So, let's pause to discuss what I've been doing lately. I started Invisalign in January. It's something I thought about for a while. Like lots of people, I had braces when I was in high school, but eventually (after not always wearing my retainer enough) my teeth shifted. So, I decided to bite the bullet and get them fixed. I must say, the process really isn't bad. If you are disciplined enough to keep the trays in about 22 hours per day, it's so much better than actually having braces and faster. I'm super excited to see the final outcome. Okay, back to fashion...
My next look incorporates a great little skirt that I've had for a while. It's fabric with leatherette inserts. I paired it with one of my recently purchased cashmere belle sleeve sweater finds, in a pinky-lilac color. I featured the ivory sweater just like it here, and I'm sure I'll find a chance to wear the black version for you too!

With this look, I paired a multi-strand statement pearl necklace and bracelet that I got from Stella & Dot years ago. It's a great chunky set. I wore the same tights and booties as in my first look. Why fix something that's not broke? I love how the pink sweater with it's bell sleeves and the feminine pearls make this outfit just girly enough. I think this look would be great for a Valentine's date night outfit because of the pink.
As you can see, I debated about how to style my hair for this look. At one point, I had it in a little top knot, and then I decided it looked better down. I recently had quite a bit cut off just because of the shear amount of time it takes to style. I have naturally curly hair, and it's thick. So, blowing it straight and flat ironing it is more likely to happen when it's a little shorter. However, I really like the way it looks when it's a little longer. Sigh...girl problems!
My final look incorporates faux leather leggings, which I love, with a girly tuxedo jacket that has little leatherette accents on the collar, and a white tee. I also added a black and brown beaded necklace and a leather studded bracelet. With this look, I added tan booties to give a little more contrast. I have to admit, if I can get by with pants of some type, I'll likely to choose the pants, especially in the winter.

I love this little jacket because it's a little shorter, and it's a bit fitted. It's also really a bit dressy. This is a perfect look for an evening dinner date. It's a little edgy, but the feminine tuxedo jacket dresses it up just enough.
That's all of my looks for today. I hope this post gave you ladies some great ideas for upcoming nights out, and don't forget to head on over to Saved Classy and Chic and check out Anita's great selections. Be sure to leave me a comment letting me know what you think of this post. I love hearing from you...it makes my day!
XOXO,
Julie

Love these looks! That pink bell sleeve sweater is perfect and I love the tuxedo blazer with the leggings!
ReplyDeleteAwe, thank you so much! I'm loving bell sleeves right now!
DeleteI love all three looks, Ginger! The dress is a no brainer...classy, sophisticated and accesosrized perfectly. I love the bell sleeve sweater in the second one - it's pink! And the faux leather leggings in the last one, paired with that blazer?? Yes! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Chrissy! I figured the pink outfit would be perfect for Valentine's Day, but then again, you could wear any of them for Valentine's. I don't often get that dressed up for date night. We have to be going somewhere fancy.
DeleteI love the sweater with the bell sleeves. I must admit I never wear a skirt or dress for date night but I do love the look.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I bought that sweater in three colors! 😂 I won't lie, I rarely wear a dress or skirt for date night...only if we are going somewhere fancy or to a party. Around here, even most of the high end restaurants have a casual dress code (Pensacola being a beach town). We do have a few that we get a little more dressed up for...and I do love a great restaurant. LOL
DeleteThese are all such cute looks! Love that tuxedo jacket!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Laura! You know, I had that tuxedo jacket for a while before I wore it. I love it too. I was just waiting for the right occasion.
DeleteHi, Julie! I love all of your date night looks. I'm constantly at home with the kids, so my nights out are few and far between! Anyway, I love all the looks, but especially love the dress with boots. I love the pattern on the dress, and those simple booties are super cute.
ReplyDeleteAwe, thanks so much Gigi! I mean, these looks are obviously for a dressy night out. For a regular night out...JEANS! Thank you for stopping by!!
DeleteBeautiful and well put together outfits. The pink jumper is perfect for Valentines! x
ReplyDeleteThanks you so much! I thought the same thing about the pink when I bought it!
DeleteThese outfits are so adorable! The pink sweater is too cute. Defiantly need one for myself.
