Oh my goodness guys, I've been a bit MIA the last several weeks because my laptop has been on the fritz, and I had to have the keyboard replaced! That's just crazy to me, because I just got it in August! I don't know about y'all, but trying to draft blog posts from your iPad or iPhone just doesn't work for me. Who has time for that? I could do it at the office, but all of my photos aren't on that computer, and blah, blah, blah!
Anyway, here I am with a new post! Yay! Let me just say that I have met some great people in the short time that I've been blogging, and Anita Ford of Styled by Anita Ford, is one of those people. She and I are able to brainstorm and talk about this entire process, and it's wonderful. We decided that we wanted to get together and do some Valentine's Gift Guides for you guys, so be sure to check Anita's post out Valentine's Day Collaboration with Ginger Photog. Between the two of us, hopefully, we can give you some great picks or at least point you in the right direction!
What type of couple are you? Do you go all out for Valentine's Day, or do you enjoy a low key evening with your special someone? My husband and I often go out to dinner, but then again, some years we stay in and cook something at home. Valentine's Day out at a restaurant is always such a madhouse, and I'm really into avoiding that. Also, most restaurants limit their menu on Valentines, so that's another minus in my book...unless, of course, they have a really great Valentines menu. Over the years, I've found that I'm just as content to stay home, because I'm happy wherever my Honey is!
Valentine's Day is such a personal holiday. When couples are new to dating, it's all about the super romantic gifts. After couples have been together for a while, or are married, well, I mean, flowers, a box of chocolates and a nice dinner may do the trick! Or, maybe any one of those three! Valentine's gifts to each other are so particular to the couple, so, I hope you find something here that you like for your love.
Guys...(this is for any of you men that might be reading this post)...let me give you some hints on things to consider when buying a gift for your special lady. Most ladies are sentimental, or at least a lot of us are. So, when thinking about what makes the perfect Valentine's Day gift, we dream of things that we can keep forever and have as a remembrance of our special day with you. So, get ready for it...most women love jewelry. It doesn't have to be an expensive piece, and something personalized from you is most important.
If you aren't to the point of buying a ring, consider a heart necklace or one with your love's initials. Believe me, that will win you BIG points in her book. If you can't afford jewelry, or just don't feel comfortable buying THAT yet, anything that pampers your lady will be a winner. Women love anything that lends to relaxation...like yummy scented bath products. If you want to drop a nice dime, but just aren't ready for jewelry yet, consider a nice handbag. Ladies love their handbags, and you will be the talk of the office (in a good way)! If you just want to go simple, scroll on down for a link to save 10% off on flowers.
I have linked gifts for her and for him, so no one is left out! To shop, all you have to do is click the photo, it's that easy.

Gifts for Her
If none of these great gifts are right for your love, I suggest you go with the tried and true...flowers! FlowerShopping.com is offering 10% off all Valentine's orders, so, guys (yes, that means you men...if any are reading this post), flowers are always a safe bet! I hate to say this, but I honestly think a lot of ladies love having their flowers delivered at work...you know, so all the other ladies can see how thoughtful their guy is!😉😉 Click the banner below to shop and save at FlowerShopping.com.
Ladies, let's talk a bit about what to get your guys. Chocolate is a possibility, if your guy is a chocolate lover. My Honey and I often just share a box of candy for Valentines. Neither one of us can eat an entire box by ourselves. Most likely, however, your special guy will love getting a "guy" gift! That's right, something particular to his interests or hobbies. Some men love nice watches, but those can be unaffordable. Other men love a nice writing pen, which can be obtained for a wide range of prices. Some guys even collect nice writing pens.
Others love their tech gadgets, travel items or personal grooming goodies (like cologne or shaving gear). If you don't want to break the bank, I've linked some Happy Socks below. I know what you're thinking...does my guy want socks for Valentine's Day? Well, my husband loves Happy Socks. They're quirky and neat, and being an attorney, they add a little zest to his stuffy dress clothes. Another thing he loves are the tech cord rolls. I got him one several years ago, and he uses it every time we travel. It's so handy and reasonably priced. Who am I kidding though, he pretty much would love any of the items I've linked below.
I hope I've given you some great gift ideas for your love! Now, don't forget to head on over to Anita's page here to check out her great gift guide. XOXO,
Julie
I'm a committed spinster, so no romantic gifts in store for me. I do usually do something special for my friends, though. However, I will share this post with my mom, because this Valentine's day will be her 21st anniversary. So she could use some ideas. I'm so glad your back and I hope your computer works better in the future.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Gigi! I say, if you're by yourself on Valentine's Day, you should treat yourself to a nice spa treatment (nails, hair or massage)! Thanks so much for visiting and sharing! I sure hope my computer issues are solved.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back, Julie! I hear you about working on any device other than my laptop. I don't even like drafting IG posts from small devices and actually type it all on my computer and text it to my phone so I can just copy and paste! These are really great gift ideas from both you and Anita. I just read her blog post, too. I have a Valentine's Day Dress wish list post scheduled for Wednesday. Hopefully you can check it out then. I'm glad to see you back at the business of blogging! You were missed!

Thanks so Shelbee! I've felt a bit out of sorts. It started acting up before the holiday, and I managed to do my posts, but the keys weren't working right. Once I got back in town, I had to take it to be repaired! I'm so glad you enjoyed our posts! Anita is just the sweetest, and we had fun working on this together. I'll be sure to check out your dress post this Wednesday! Have a great week!
