Well, Sunday is the first real day that it's felt cooler here in the Florida Panhandle...a little like Fall. It's was actually in the 60's, so I'm feeling all Fall ready! It could be because it was rainy and windy, but I'll take it! I have to admit, I'm all ready for my Fall indulgences. What's your Fall indulgence? I mean, let's be honest, when the weather gets all cool and crisp, I just love to hunker down and cozy up. That means instead of just brewing my coffee by the cup with my Keurig, I brew a whole pot and lounge around and drink it. That's just something I enjoy doing when it gets cool. I'll drink cup after cup! I really love just being in the moment and taking time to enjoy everything.
To me, that means taking time in the morning to eat a healthy breakfast and enjoy, really enjoy, my coffee...not just chug it down as I'm putting on my makeup. I even sometimes pull out the pretty silver and daily china (which I don't use daily) and just sit at my nice dining table and enjoy! It just makes the time more special. I've linked some similar pieces below.

It also means spending time cuddling with my precious puppies and my hubby. I don't know if you all know this about my husband and I, but the only kids we have are puppy dogs (oh, and an outside kitty that adopted us). Needless to say, we love our pups like they are people.

This year has been a real challenge for us. We lost one of our babies, Barkley. He was twelve years old, but he seemed fine, until one day, he had a seizure. I rushed him to the vet, and they kept him all day and said one of his blood work levels was off and his tummy was bothering him. They gave him some medicine and said bring him back when he finished the meds to get some tests regarding the elevated blood work. We took him to the office with us the next day (my husband and I are attorneys and have our own office). He seemed to feel good. When we got home with him that night, he ran outside with the other pups, came back in and had another seizure, which he didn't recover from. We rushed him to the emergency vet, but, unfortunately, there was nothing they could do...he was gone. It truly broke our hearts into a million pieces, and our other little pups that had grown up with him were visibly depressed...for a long time. It was a super sad time. Our 14 year old poodle then started having health problems, and we found out his liver was barely functioning. We started him on a range of medications, and thankfully, he is doing pretty good at this point. Nonetheless, it's been a really hard year.
These are my little babies enjoying the Fall leaves several years ago on the deck of our house in North Georgia. During the Fall months, when we first arrive, there are always deep leaves on the deck, because our house is surrounded by trees. It's a big production to get all of the leaves swept or blown off the deck. The little white baby, in the blue sweater, Barkley, is the one we lost this year. It's funny, he and the poodle, Bentley, never gave me a problem wearing clothes. They have tee shirts, rain coats, sweaters, winter coats...you name it. The other one, on the left, Winston, he will bite me if I try to put clothes on him. Pretty funny...right? Well, at least until I get bit! I've just given up on putting clothes on him.
I am extremely fortunate to have the freedom to spend a lot of time with my pups. If they are extra needy (which happens pretty often), I just work from home that day and love on them. I've put together a little lineup of sweaters for dogs and the people who love them below, plus some Halloween costumes for pups, rain coats, collars and leashes. I love all of my doggy themed items, including dog socks. I always buy my pups new tee shirts and sweaters for their birthdays and Christmas. Rain coats are an absolute must for my pups, because they hate getting wet, but when it rains, they still have to go out! I'm not sure if they think clothes are a wonderful gift or not...I mean, when I was a kid, I hated to get clothes as a gift! I also love to dress my cute pups up for Halloween and let them go to the door with me to pass out candy. Winston, the biter, is going to be a devil this year (the costume fits), and Bentley, the poodle, is going to be a bumble bee. They will both be super cute.
We also have a big dog, as I call him...a German Shepherd named Bronson that joined our family last year. I grew up with little dogs and have had little dogs my entire adult life, but my husband had large dogs, and he really wanted another one. He loves to jog and go on trails, and he really wanted one that could do that with him. Well, Bronson...where to start...he's wild. However, he is the sweetest and smartest German Shepherd ever. He completely loves us, and we love him. Here he is below, with my hubby, drinking out of the office water fountain. If we could just get him to turn the water on himself. He also LOVES, LOVES, LOVES the girls that work with us.
Another thing I love doing is putting up my Fall wreaths and decorating our cabin in North Georgia for Fall! I have a wreath for my front door that my cousin made for me, and it's my absolute favorite. I pull it out year after year and use it at my Florida house. I love all of its detail, and it just makes me happy! Here's a photo of that wreath.
I have linked some of my favorite wreaths below. The first one in the line up, I have and love! I use it at my house in Georgia. My door there gets a lot of sunlight, and it has held up very well. The detail on it is fabulous, especially for the price, and the gourds look super real.
Fall in the North Georgia mountains is absolutely beautiful, and I guess that's one of my main indulgences...just going and enjoying the beauty! The colors are magnificent, and I take tons, I means tons, of photos! That's my Honey below this past Fall.
When I'm in the mountains, especially in the Fall, my daily uniform is jeans, a tee or sweater, riding boots and a scarf. This pair of Born boots, I've had for years, and I keep wearing them year after year. They are super comfy, and I can walk and walk, just like I'm wearing tennis shoes, without my feet getting tired. They hold up to everything I have put them through, and the scuffs that come with age just add to their originality. I've linked up similar everything below.
I hope you all enjoyed my take on Fall indulgences. It's the little things, really! Love your life and your family everyday and enjoy every single minute of it.
